ReadFree
case study coming soonReadFree is a web-based application developed to support early screening for Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) in children. Created in collaboration with the Psychology Department at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, this tool features engaging, non-reading activities within a playful, narrative framework, focusing on abilities closely correlated with dyslexia and other SLDs.
As screening for SLDs becomes clinically valid only from the third grade, ReadFree addresses this limitation by providing activities that do not require reading or writing skills. Supported by a PRIN-funded research project, ReadFree is part of an initiative to predict the onset of SLDs in younger children. Its accessible online format allows for large-scale, early identification of children at risk for dyslexia, helping the National Health Service prioritize clinical validation for individuals most in need.
